Richard oversees the day-to-day activities of our construction division. He focuses on process improvement, resolving challenges, budget management, team leadership, and department coordination. He also helps ensure his team delivers the highest-quality work while meeting our customers’ requirements and budget constraints. 

Expertise

Richard has been employed by Gowan/Garrett since 1996, when he started as a project foreman. He has since been promoted to Superintendent, Project Manager, and now Operations Manager over the construction division.

He has spent his career managing, coordinating, and scheduling large, complex projects across higher education, correctional institutions, medical facilities, and specialized laboratories, consistently delivering each one on time and within budget. 

In addition to completing a Local 68 apprenticeship, he holds a professional plumbing/medical gas license, backflow prevention certification, LP gas license, and numerous welding certifications.

The Personal Side

Richard enjoys spending time with his family, raising/working cattle, and serves as a Deacon at his local church.
